And finally here we are, in Fort William, almost running the last hundreds of meters, completely exhausted. I even forgot to take a picture !

The last photograph is a view from the train taking us back to Glasgow just two hours from there. What a feeling to see all that distance travelled just by sitting and looking by the window after a week during wich one each kilometer was some sort of victory.

So, why all of this ? Why endure the pain, the cold and the rain instead of taking a taxi to go from place to place?

To me this kind of trip is an escape from the everyday life in the search of new experiences, new feelings and discoveries about others and myself.

When you are away from your responsabilities and deprive yourself from all the superficial things that modern life can offer, only the essential remains. You are just there with the people you love, with nothing to prove, and you just think about having a good time.

Also, being alone in front of these majestic landscapes can free your mind in a wonderful way. You become aware of how small and insignificant you are and, at the same time, you realise how the littlest things can be beautiful and you learn to appreciate them.

Finally, pushing your body to its limits from time to time makes you feel alive in a very unique and effective way.

It is a challenge and you have to trust yourself that you are capable to do it. You can’t count on anyone or anything to help you and each accomplishment is very rewarding.

Me and my friends didn’t just visited and discovered a beautiful country with wonderful people. I believe that each one of us learned at least a little bit more about the others. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way, but always with respect and I am convinced that sharing this kind of adventure always leaves memories that we cannot forget.
